Why 40?

Why 40 days of praise, worship and prayer? 40 DaysBecause through prayer, God told us to!

Many significant events in the Bible were 40 days in duration. Here are some scriptures that may enlighten us as to why He chose the number 40 for the duration of this particular time with Him...

Genesis 7:12
And rain fell on the earth
forty days and forty nights.

Genesis 8:6
After
forty days Noah opened the window he had made in the ark

Exodus 34:28
Moses was there with the LORD
forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant-the Ten Commandments.

Deuteronomy 9:18
Then once again I (Moses) fell prostrate before the LORD for
